Arrival Mingle
Who: Everyone.
What: The Chosen return or arrival in the City.
When: July 1st.
Where: The Districts of the City.
Anything Else? Feel free to make your own arrivals, or throw an arrival starter here! The party is open to all. As a reminder, language barriers are not an issue in the Tower.
The City hadn't changed at all in its time without the chosen. If anything, The City seemed a little dusty. The Chosen would find themselves waking in their assigned homes. Even if they were returning and had other homes. They would wake in their chosen home. For the most part, anyway, a few chosen had special ways of arriving.
The assigned housing varied depending on the district they were assigned according to their sin. However, everyone had a box, a welcome package awaiting them upon waking. Inside the box was an extra invitation inviting them to the tower if they so decided to come visit upon arrival.
The city was once again bustling with life. Cars, demons, and the people of the City moving as if time had never stopped. Business as usual for the returning Chosen.
The Tower
While it was not Aiden's district, he had talked the Duchess into opening up the ballroom, and Skiffell to provide food, that just didn't seem to end. The grand ballroom was filled with many delectable dishes, and a small band of demons playing big band music in the corner.
The doors were propped open with the music drifting out to help lull the chosen who decided to attend. A handwritten poster board outside the open doors displaying 'Welcome Chosen!' with about 10 smiley faces drawn on it. While normally parties at the tower demanded fancy dress, Aiden throwing a party meant that rule would not be abided. He didn't dig out the fancy threads for anyone. This was a different kind of party, put together by the lord of Leisurebrook.
While Aiden didn't plan to reveal himself as a magistrate, he did love to mingle with people and hear their stories. So he was there. He was napping at a round table off in a corner, his messy brown hair spilled over his crossed arms as he napped as if he didn't have a care in the world.

Anakin looked around, taking it all in.
"I feel like I shouldn't trust it... and yet, I am going to eat as much as possible. What do you think?"
no subject
But he'd asked a question. "It's fine. They wouldn't do anything to it or us right out of the gate. It'd be bad for business if we start getting suspicious."
no subject
He dipped his head a bit closer conspiratorially. "Do they even need to care about business?"
no subject
"We're the business, Ani. Of course they need to care. They need us to care too." She straightens and pops another grape into her mouth.
"Whatever, I'm just glad to have options again. Years of Ramen is more than 'sometimes'."
no subject
"I understand exactly what you mean. Did I ever mention about that time in my lives I could only eat through, essentially, a feeding tube?" Had she known him from that time period, he was unclear about the specifics of what Devi knew about him.
"The option of chewing is great."
no subject
Devi scrunches her nose at his story, shaking her head a little. "Ew, no thank you. No fun. You hadn't told me that but." She shudders and pops another bite in her mouth like the act of chewing was a comfort of it's own,

So he decided to change the subject.
"Are you going to continue with your art?"
no subject
"Of course. Art is as much a part of me as mechanics is a part of you. They'd have to literally cut my hands off, but I'd just figure out how to stick a paintbrush up my ass and do it that way." Yes, this is something she 100% thought about.
"Are you going to continue with Mechanics," she asks, charging him back with a little lean in as they move.

"But I'm not most people and I'm pretty sure painting with your feet is only a step up. I like it difficult." It's declared with an arrogant lift of her chin, but also the play of a smile at the corners of her lips as she glances over. The look didn't hold but for a few seconds before she was relaxing.
"But you know I'd be botherin' you for some new fingers. Wouldn't trust my nerves to anyone else. Besides, it's good conduct to support neighbourin' businesses."
no subject
He grew quiet for just a moment because he hadn't meant it as a business offering services... but it tickled the two brain cells in his head to start thinking.
"Do you think... there's enough people here who'd want a place like that?" He hadn't run into anyone else with a whole replaced limb yet, but... "I can do more than just limbs, I'd know my way around cybernetic implants, too."
no subject
She could see his gears turning and tilts her head a little as she watches him, not wanting to interrupt whatever was brewing in there. She lifts her eyebrows at the question, lips down turning thoughtfully as she bobs her head.
"All sorts turn up here. There could be plenty of people that need something that think there isn't an option for maintenance or upgrade.. I say you do it. Put something together, pitch it to a Magistrate. Your magistrate or the Magistrate of the district you want it housed in. Oh! And since you're here, I want to show you my gravity chamber at some point- not now, but. Once I make sure it's still there. I think you're the only one that might understand the mechanics of it."
no subject
But he was instantly diverted (his mind would come back to the shop idea later).
"Um, yes! Please explain this gravity chamber in more detail." Did it generate gravity, did it eliminate gravity, did it warp the fabric of space and time? He really had to know.
