(OTA) Bake me up before you dough-dough.
Who: YOU plus Kate = FUN!.
What: Flour Power's grand re-opening. Everyone has been invited!
Where: The bakery is located in the Gardens of Pleasure.
When: Tuesday, August the First, 7pm to whenever'ish!
Warnings: N/A
Notes: Open to all! Please feel free to make your own thread!

Flour Power, while technically located in the Gardens of Pleasure, is located where the Tower and Leisurebrook districts meet. It is more than a decent location. The storefront is pretty. The building is brick and the entrance was out front with a double sets of French doors. Kate had thoughtfully hidden security gates that could be pulled closed behind potted trees and plants. There are even two little benches for those that wanted to enjoy their cupcakes outside.
The décor combines a light industrial flair combined with a dash or three of vintage charm. It is spotless too, as clean as it can possibly be for she has a thing about cleanliness. There is just enough decoration to keep it feeling homey but not enough for clutter.
Long, glass counters run down the length and side of the interior. They house all the various baked goods. Edison bulbs give the atmosphere a continued vintage feel. The seating area is comprised of mismatched but coordinated chairs and tables. Other than the cupcakes and treats, it is one of the few places that has a pop of color. The bathroom is unisex and accessible for everyone regardless of abilities. Kate had tried to be as thoughtful during the renovation as possible.
The kitchen, with it's vast array of ovens and equipment, is accessed by walking through the swinging doors labeled 'Employees Only'. Through their, one can take the stairs down to reach the basement floor. It is where Kate's office is as well as the employee break area and storage.
It has been a long road to getting Flour Power back open and ready for business. She's had lots of help in that regards and she can only hope that hers and everyone elses' hard work pays off for tonight.

Andrew Jaeger
And there's coffee, which ensures return visits from the big man. Especially now that he has a job and money to spend on such things.
Even at ease, he presents an imposing figure, casual at the moment but ever watchful and alert to his surroundings. Black hair freshly dyed and clipped short, wearing a clean new turtleneck in dark gray and a pair of jeans, he regards the glass cases with a critical eye as he debates on one more treat to bring home with him. He has that coupon, after all, and he'd promised Kate.
"Do you have a favorite?" He might ask a fellow patron.
Later, he can be found on the bench outside, taking in some fresh air with his big hands still curled around his cup of coffee. Catching his breath, it seems, in the cool evening, his little bag of treats close by as he watches people come and go with their own sugary prizes.

"Good evening Mister Jaeger." She joins Jaeger on the other side of the bench. She inhales and then exhales. The fresh evening air feels good. She turns her head to look at him and offers a small smile. "Thank you again for coming."

"Good evening. Everything looks very good so far, I'm impressed." He favors her with a small smile, that tiny honest expression that has been so foreign to him for so long.
"I'm glad to help out where I can, and the coffee is good." He holds up his own cup: black, one sugar. Very no-frills, about what you'd expect the man to drink. But he's enjoying it. "I expect you'll be seeing me at least now and then, I actually don't work too far from here now."

"I'm glad you like it." Kate takes a sip of her coffee. Ahh yes, the good stuff. She can feel it recharge herself. "Oh yeah? What did you find for yourself?"

"I'm working security at one of the nicer hotels in Leisurebrook. They were happy to have someone with the experience, so it seems to be working out well so far." He takes a small sip of coffee before continuing. "And I appreciate that it's much lower stress than my past work. It's familiar, but not as intense."
He's actually kind of happy about it, in a weird way. It's steady, it's stable, and it's something he's good At. It's a feeling he hasn't had in quite a while, even if it's in such a strange place.

He ponders the question, mulling it over before he gives an honest answer.
"I think I am, strangely enough. In a lot of ways, this has been the closest to 'normal' I've had in a very long time. I have a steady place to stay, a job. I can go outside and while there are dangers, they aren't any more than what I faced before. And I have time to just...decompress, I suppose? Catch my breath." He chuckles quietly. "It's strange to admit that I might be better off, here. But I've caught myself thinking it a few times."

"It's a strange place, but just familiar enough. And very...welcoming? In its own bizarre way. Ulterior motives are a given but...at least we know what the arrangement is. What the risks are." He pauses. "I've been doing some research, talking to people, and I think that helps too. Knowing that people can survive and even thrive here."
Kate included- there's a thought there that this place can't be that terrible if she's selling cupcakes. Or maybe it just makes it all the more surreal? He's not sure.
